Ralph
Thompson MBE (
1913 - 2009)
Born
in Yorkshire, Ralph studied at both Leeds and the Royal College of
Art and taught, after the war, at Camberwell. Famous for his illustrations
of the Gerald Durrell books and many other publications. He travelled
extensively in Africa and made a huge contribution to the conservation
of animals worldwide, recognised by the award of the MBE in 2004.
We
are planning to hold a major retrospective exhibition of his work
in 2010
