Ralph Thompson MBE ( 1913 - 2009)

Born in Yorkshire, Ralph studied at both Leeds and the Royal College of Art and taught, after the war, at Camberwell. Famous for his illustrations of the Gerald Durrell books and many other publications. He travelled extensively in Africa and made a huge contribution to the conservation of animals worldwide, recognised by the award of the MBE in 2004.

We are planning to hold a major retrospective exhibition of his work in 2010
