CHARLES TUNNICLIFFE OBE, RA, RE 1901 – 1979

Born 1st Dec.1901 in Langley, Cheshire. Made his reputation with his wood engravings for Henry Williamson's book Tarka the Otter, from there he went on to illustrate numerous books. He was one of the most prolific and influential British artists of the century, and is now recognised as one of the world's finest bird artists. Vice President of the SWLA.
