Kelly was both a teacher and artist. He felt that through his art he could
add something to the total apprecition of life; that an artist can plumb
deeper than the scientist and that through art alone we touch the intangibles.
The paintings cover most of his life from the First World War through his
teaching days at Rugby School and on into the 1960’s.
