| Les Animaliers - Rosa Bonheur, Pierre Jules Mene, Emmanuel Fremiet and Antoine-Louis Barye . Later Casts - Little is known about the numbers of various models originally cast by the foundries in Paris. The sculptor himself in most cases only produced the original model, leaving the Foundry to cast the actual bronzes. The Foundry was perfectly at liberty to continue casting the work and often did so, well after the death of the sculptor. When considering the values of these slightly later casts it is often impossible to tell the difference in date and so values are simply judged by the quality of the piece, its scarcity and its patina. |
