ANNE SHINGLETON

Anne was born in 1953 Salisbury. Most of her childhood was spent on a Dorset farm surrounded by animals. After having earned a degree in Zoology at Swansea Unversity she moved to Florence in 1980 to study classical art techniques under the renowned teacher Nerina Simi ( 1890 - 1987 ). Nerina was a respected colleague of Annigoni and trained and prepared any student wishing to apply for an apprenticeship with him.

She has lived and worked in Tuscany since 1982 and had her first one man exhibition in King Street in London in 1983.

Anne has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Italy, the UK and the USA including the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the Society of Wildlife Artists and the Pastel Society and has had seven one-man exhibitions in these same countries.
