Bird
Man's River Eric Ennion
Eric Ennion wrote Bird Man’s River in the late 1930’s but was
unable to find a publisher. It chronicles his pre-war birdwatching
adventures: in Burwell Fen in Cambridgeshire, in Breckland,
on the Broads and the Norfolk and Suffolk coast, in Scotland
and Wales, and in Holland in 1930 and Iceland in 1936 – a lyrical
account of birds and wild places experienced in a golden age.
The book reproduces all the illustrations he prepared specially
for Bird Man’s River plus a selection of his exhibition watercolours
and other work from the period. Introduction by Bob Walthew.

had never been touched on ……and now we know there is no other way”.
